Here a black-winged stilt (scient. himantopus himantopus; italian: cavaliere d'Italia)

Unmistikable, elegant and nervous bird (L 35 cm). Black wings and white head, neck and breast. In flight, its extremely long legs can exceed the tail up to 20 cm. Black-winged Stilt is tied to wetlands: lagoons, marshes, both freshwater as brackish. Breeding tends to be in colonies. The species feeds mainly on aquatic invertebrates. Resident.
