The statue is impressive and captured in a clear and sharp photo with good symmetry. The branches of trees or bushes on the floor make me curious. What purpose did they serve?

Bonjour Pierre,
A nice shot of this large statue, its dark tones stand out well from the lighter walls and pillars and the light is very pleasant as well, adding a nice shadow.

Bonjour Pierre,
Etrange spectacle de voir autant de branches par terre dans la basilique Santa Maria Maggiore!
On pourrait presque penser qu'il s'agit d'un monument dans une forêt plutôt que d'une statue dans une célèbre basilique.
La qualité de la photo est vraiment très bonne.
Belle avec l'ombre du bras, comme s'il y avait un deuxième (ou troisième) bras de la statue.

Hello Pierre,

This is a very well exposed photograph.
The statue is sharp, the light and shadows capturing smooth textures a very good 3D effect.

I'm not sure what the purpose of the branches and leaves is. Was there any reason for them being there?
