Irish winter.., a photo from Cork, South

Photographer's Note

Inspite of Ireland's geographical quite northern position, it has a very mild climate all year around because of the Gulf stream. It will hardly ever freeze or snow here and for this reason you can find flowers, palm trees (yes!) and other vegetation all year around.. This photo has in fact been taken in january...

Bon jour Léonie, I had a look @ y'r portfolio and I can say that you have quite a knack with capturing atmosphere and drama in landscapes. In this one the light is wonderful, facilitating these 'winter'colours to do their lovely thing here. The depth and perspective are great also and I like the way, as in many Irish landscapes, the rough stone fences lead us through the landscape in their own curving way. Very nice work & have a great sunday (and the remainder of the saturday :-)) too.

en voilà encore une bien belle... J'adore ces couleurs, décidément l'Irlande est un endroit super (on le savait déjà un peu mais bon...). Un bon cadrage, des couleurs chaudes, froides, un ciel bien bleu orné de jolis nuages, etc. Tout bon !

Beautiful scenery Leonie.
A bit more light than you usually provide us with. Nevertheless the colours are great and the sharpness. You have really taken a leap in your photografy and mastering of PP the last month I think.

PS. En 1978 , ma copine avait alors participée à un festival de danses folklorique à Cork. À cette époque époque , je naviguais déjà. Pendant son séjour à Cork, j'étais en route pour l'Égypte.

Leonie you're starting to make these eye-popping shots look easy! I had no idea Ireland could be this green in January. You sure have a fantastic sky with repeating cloud patterns. The blues are so strong that it almost looks like you took this with a polarizer. I have no suggestions on how to improve this, it's perfect!

another great landscape from Ireland! Tech is excellent and the place is simply fantastic!
I appreciate very much the contrast between the 'pattern' of clouds (almost a sequence of diagonal white lines) and the full 3D presence of the earth... The light is super and the air exceptionally crisp (for the standard in my area!!)

content de voir une de tes photos, le depart de Simon m'attriste, mais heureusement ta photo va me permettre d'avoir le coeur plus leger ...
tres belle vue, belle profondeur, et les couleurs sont magnifiques. le cadrage est aux petits oignons, avec cette maison qui semble sortir de nulle part, et semble si fragile face à cette nature imposante.

Hallo Léonie. Grossartige Irische Küstenlanschaft, präsentiert in einem sehr ansprechenden Bildaufbau mit dem braun-grünen Vordergrund, der tiefblauen Bucht, und der hügeligen Szenerie im Hintergrund. Die Farben sind einfach toll, und die Wolkenschicht ist auch sehr dekorativ ... Sehr schönes Foto, zum Glück hab ich's doch noch gefunden ;-)

Oh - even the winter is green on Ireland - I like the fine mix of colours and the very fine landscape - the house the stone fence which I some feel very irish - even we do have them here as well - thanks Leonie for sharing and showing.

a very sharp and clear image! I like how the white building stand out really well, the thick clouds over the top of the landscape.The colours look very nice too, so the photo makes very plesant atmosphere! How did you get so good depth of field with f5,6?
