Little chapel, a photo from Cork, South

Photographer's Note

This is the chapel of St. Finbarr (Barra in Irish) founder, and first Bishop of Cork, Finbarr is widely believed to have lived at an island hermitage at Gougane Barra. This little chapel stands on an island surrounded by the lake Lough Allua, (whose old name is Loch Irse) & the island is linked to the mainland by a causeway.
St Finbarr's was built at the end of the nineteenth century, in his memory.

Your timing is perfect as your capture while using calm water surface as a real mirror. Unique architecture of chapel of St. Finbarr is attractive too with its stone facades and roofs. Hi Wilson.
I was just talking about Cork and Kinsale with some friends over in London the other day.
This is a lovely shot, sharp and with beautiful colours on what seemed to have been a greyis day. Well placed chapel in the composition, and the reflection is marvellous. You brought out the colours, especially the range of green tones, really well here, and I like the way the foreground tree is hanging its leafy branch in front of the building. An absolutely delightful scene.

Hello Wilson, you have positioned yourself very well for this shot. The composition turned out very well, with the tree on the side to provide some natural framing, the reflection from the water of the chapel, and the framing on the top with the tree branches. You even set the camera angle so you didn't chop the reflection of the trees in the water. Colour is good, with great sharp detail. Very excellent work!

Hi Wilson,
I had the pleasure to visit this place by myself as I have lived in Cork for about two years. Very charming. You did not have the best weather but rather typical Irish one. So cutting away the sky and focusing on the chapel was a good idea. Great almost 100% reflection, it makes the composition double as interesting.
