Photographer's Note

This picture is a special dedication for various reasons.

First of all it's an irish typical country picture - sheeps and green grass are the commonly known features of Ireland. Sheeps by the way are very gracefull models! This shot was taken in a Deserted Village, on the Achill Island, co. Mayo. It consists of some 80 - 100 stone cottages located along a mile long stretch of road on the southern slopes of Slievemore mountain. While some of these dwellings were occupied as summer 'booley' homes within living memory, the area itself is rich in archaeological artefacts including megalithic tombs dating from the Neolithic period some 5,000 years ago. Local field systems and site remnants indicate that settlement in this area dates from at least early Mediaval times.

The other reason for selecting this photo for uploading is due to the upcoming time od Easter. The lamb is commonly known symbol of Easter - it represents Jesus, "the Lamb of God".

The third reason is the atmosphere of this photo. Although it's green, but you will see it was quite a dark and rainy day. I think having in mind what happeden in the last few days in Italy, many of us will find it difficult to celebrate Easter just like any other year. There are thousands of people who would have to celebrate being homeless due to the number of tragic earthquakes.

But life goes on, it has to. I'm sending all my sympathy to Italian friends who must face the reality now. To all of them and all of you Folks: Happy Easter. And for those who do not celebrate it - have a great few days off!
