Photographer's Note
Do you know the legend of the moon and the sun...all the time trying to meet together on sky?
...And never getting a hug from tother ...
My mother used to tell me and to my sister this story and I feel that I am in wonderland, because in that day i saw them together on the sky but still far away ...maybe once will meet and the moon will be the bride of the sun

Hi Aneline,
A real fairytale picture, a Narnia scene or something... The big moom is impressive and the snow covered fields just add to the magic.
Cheers,
Flavia

The picture is dream-like and the note adds so much to that feeling.
I don't know about Iceland, but, here in India, on the 26th and 27th of October (a day before you took your picture) we saw a very large and beautiful moon too. It was the closest in its orbit to the earth that it has been all year.

Great shot! The moon looks absolutely huge in this, so you must have used a very long lens, yet it doesn't feel like it because of the buildings at the bottom of the photo. Well balanced and beautiful!

I would say,the Sun becoming Moon`s wife. The legends says, the Sun is the sister and the Moon the brother, but let me tell you my story, the story of two sisters,The Sun as your sister and The Moon as you.
"When she wake`s up in the morning, she wants THE SUN rays touching her face, only the radio alarm makes she realize that her SUN is missing from her world. There is lingering emptiness in THE MOON`s heart, trying to find her missing SUN anywhere she could.Sometimes she see it in the waves of the ocean, other times she see it smiling in her garden with roses, sometimes filling her MOON empty heart with love divine___"
Marvelous framing, lovely mood created,as Flavia says before me___a fairytale.

Hi Anellise
You have done a spetacular job in controlling the light to get the moon so nicely exposed and some light on the land. I have always wanted to visit Iceland. TFS.

Hello Anes,
Very nice photo, the presence of the moon brings a lot of interest. I like also those blue tones on earth but also in the sky.
Yves.
PS: the story you told is also a song made by Charles Trenet.

Hi Anelisse,
You've captured a fairy tale photo, just like the story of your mother's.
I enjoyed the overall gray tones, sharpness and the clear details of the moon in the photo which added a postcard like effect.
Thanks and best wishes

hello Anellise,
a nice moody picture, even if it could be better with the moon in the left corner for my taste.

Let them never meet Anes.
As the sun will attract the silver goddess with his golden look, yet the meeting will suddenly burn down the over-imaginative, poor silver goddess. And the golden sun will even be unaware of that...

Wow this is a very nice one. I love it. Very dramatic scene. There are alot of moon photos here on TE, but most of them are so boring to see since the focus is on the moon itself. So nothing interesting. Here, you got something unique with the moon with the visible foreground. You did an excellent job here. Sothy

Hi Anellise!
I am impressed about your gallery, I always felt interesting for your country, but watching your awesome work, I feel like going even more!
Just like this last example. I love the angle, the dark light gives a very interesting ambience to your picture, and finally the moon added within the composition gives a very extraordinary result.
Excellent job!
Cheers, and thank you for your words about my last image Anellise!
Take care, and have a great day!

Hi Annelise,
That big moon makes the shot, I guess @ 17:22 in Iceland at this time of year sunlight is completely gone and you relied here only on moonlight, but it did actually shed sufficient light onto the snowy scene to see many details. I haven't tried moonlight photography, something to keep in mind...
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hello Anellise. One clicks your side on, and the first picture is already a masterpiece. It has everything that is necessary for a perfect photo, contents of, tendency, composition etc.. But the special tendency is here the crucial. My acknowledgment. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Here in Brazil, some times of the year we can see both moon and sun on the sky, is very funny see the moon in the day light.
You got here a very big moon over this field covered with snow. It has animals like wolfs in Iceland?
thanks

the title is good, i was going to miss this one ;)
about the moon and the sun, that makes me thinking of a french song of Charles Trenet, but i guess you never heard about him
about the photo you catch the moon at a good moment and from a good POV to include the landscape and such a big moon, i must say that's well done !

Anellise,
the ttile of this shot expresses well the story of this picture and also what I missed during my short vacation in Mexico - your superb shots of a quite different world that I dream of visiting in future. The composition with the moon above the landscape and the clouds/ fog huging the whole scene is excellent. Good vertical framing to enhance the contrast between the moon and the landscape.

bravo pt ultimele imagini - foarte atractive dpv vizual din toate punctele de vedere: paleta coloristica, compozitie, incadrare ... continua tot asa si n-o sa mai scapi de toti aia care or sa vrea sa vina in vizita in Islanda :) ... mai bine iti faci o agentie de turism (suna a gluma, dar nu-i)

Hello Anellise, this is really great photo that so perfectly express the atmosphere in Iceland. Vast, empty areas with just one house here and there. The moon really adds the atmosphere to it. Wonderful idea. Lucie
