Photographer's Note

This is the geyser Strokkur. It is located in the same area as the biggest geyser in Iceland, Geysir. Geysir have been unactive for several years but has recently come into action again. When I was visitng Iceland Strokkur was the largest, active geyser. The water goes about 15 metres high and are hot, almost boiling.
Strokkur erupts every 5th minute, and then it erupts three times. Amazing! It is like a clock.

This picture is taken with my old Canon EOS (don´t remeber the model) and I have developed it myself. The quality was not very good so I tried to restore it in Neat Image, and then I have used PS to resize, crop and autolevels.

This is a nice dramatic action shot - I've been to this spot myself and I remember standing ready with my camera until my arm ached waiting for the geyser to erupt! You've timed it well and the lovely golden light works really well. Its a shame that you didn't leave more space at the left hand side though and maybe a little extra at the top. That's my only criticism though - Iceland's a terrific place and I think you've captured something of its geological weirdness!

This is a really nice caption of Strokkur. I don´t like so much the line in the background used for ceiling of the area around the geyser. I´ve had a hard time myself trying to avoid it when taking pictures of Strokkur. I was about to mention the spacing at the top and left, but I see now that it has already been mentioned.

Som kuriosa kan jag nämna att en vän från jobbet i somras uppmätte ytvatten-temperaturen i Strokkur till endast omkring nittio grader. Det är inte så varmt som man tror mao.
