Photographer's Note

A sunny early day and wonderful reflections in the Dýrafjörður fjord in Western Fjords area in Iceland. We stayed two nights in the small village of Thingeyri in the fjord, but we had to wait our last hours there to have at last some little sun while we had grey sky on the previous days. Dýrafjörður is often said the most beautiful fjord of Iceland, we understood why on this beautiful morning. The fjord is surrounded by the highest mountain in Westfjords, Kaldbakur, 998 metres height. The area between Dýrafjörður and Arnarfjörður (in the south) is often called Westfjord Alps because it has the only mountains which are not flat topped.

I Like this beautiful, calm landscape. The reflections are lovely, and the deep, blue sky makes the scene even nicer.

Hello Olivier,
An excellent picture that underlines once more the beauty of the Icelandic nature.
This is the landscape I recognize from the Icelandic Nobel prize Literature winner Halldór Laxness.
He uses this fascinating but harsh landscape as background for his novels.

Belle lumière et bel effet miroir, mais on aurait envie d'en voir plus : n'as-tu pas essayé un panoramique ?
Et vu depuis le sommet des montagnes, le fjord doit être sympa aussi, je pense.

what can I say? i love all of these nature scenes from Iceland, I want to re-visit this country everytime i visit your gallery haha

such bold landscapes, really catches our attention, and to have reflections on top of that it makes it that much better.
