Photographer's Note
The Strokkur geyser in Haukadalur, Iceland. The picture was taken just before sunset and about 20 min before taking the picture of Gullfoss (titled Waterfall at sunset) that I have previously posted on TE.
I was very happy to see all the response on this picture. I had wanted to take one of these pictures for several years, and when we came to Geysir that day I saw that I would get a few chances before the sun disappeared. After about 15 min of waiting I got a great opportunity and took this photo. Glad to see that you all liked the result.

This is a great picture with a magical atmosphere. The backlight through the geyser is beautiful and the clouds form a nice pattern in the sky.

It looks more like a volcano eruption than a geyser. In both cases it must be a great phenomena to be seen. You have certainly chosen the right moment of the day to take that pic and catch in one shot the geyser and the sunset.

Well captured. Very soft pleasing light, a sunset and then this powerful eruption. The angle and light work perfectly, nicely seen.

Vous avez de la chance d'habiter dans un si joli pays.
Excellente composition, le soleil avec le geyser ressemble à une éruption volcanique.
C'est fantastique !
You are likely to live in a so pretty country. Excellent composition, the sun with the geyser look like a volcanic eruption. It is fantastic!

Excellent shot! Taking the shot of the geyser with the sun setting through it was an inspired choice. The bold yet dark sky and the high contrast add a finishing touch to an excellent image. My only suggestion would be to reduce the noise in the sky a little (but be careful of the geyser detail). Wonderful image :-D

It's a great shot. Withthe sun on the back it's make it strange. The orange water and the brown clouds, every thing is special in your picture.
Well done Fredrik.
