Harpa, a photo from Reykjavik, Reykjavik

Photographer's Note

Following my previous picture of Hallgrímskirkja church, here is an other emblematic building of Reykjavik : Harpa. This wonderful modern building is a concert hall and a conference centre that opened in 2011. It was designed by the danish architecture firm Henning Larsen jointly with the danish artist Olafur Eliasson and the icelandic architect Einar Þorsteinn Ásgeirsson. I am enthusiastic with this incredible building every time I visit it but I find it hard to photograph. Here is a more original shot token at sunset (i.e. 11:30 pm in Iceland at that time of the year). It was the first time I could Harpa with its nice artifical lights.

another cool shot from the cool island country of Iceland :)
so fun to see this OH in color, It wasn't like this when I visited.

and its fun to read that this was taken at almost midnight, and there's still plenty of light available.

Le jeu de lumières colorées est effectivement de toute beauté et met bien en valeur ce bâtiment qui m'avait également bien plu lors de mon séjour en Islande l'an dernier.

Bonsoir Olivier,
Une superbe présentation de ce bâtiment à l'heure bleue. L'exposition est parfaite avec de jolies couleurs et de beaux reflets dans le bassin. J'aime beaucoup.

Lovely blue hour shot of this interesting building. I like how the facade has different colors, creating a partial rainbow. I also like the statue of the musician in front. The design is definitely unique, and the long exposure created a nice effect on the water in the foreground.

this Iceland building is very famous. I saw many photo of it, but here in this point of view I note details of the shape that remembers me the City of Arts Building of Rio de Janeiro.

Hi Olivier,
I didn't see this building in evening lights and had no idea that it has such an innovative illumination system. Thanks for showing. You were there on the right time in blue hour. Colourful lights and darkening sky are well in balance.
