Photographer's Note

It might be a volcano seen from the distance on board an helicopter. Yet is it a very small "fumerole" - I'm sorry I've got no clue what's the name in english is... - approximatively the size of a dog. When the insides of the Earth burn and boil the vapoured air comes out in a continuous and singing stream, and the sulfur that the air carries falls and produces a little hill.

The picture was taken in Hveravellir, and has absolutely no artistic value, it's just a funny thing Mother Nature provides us with for or amusement. But beware! one shan't come too close because the damn thing burns! It smokes like an oven and boils as if it was ready to explode... Weird peformance isn't it?

Check there and look for the "photos" section for more images.

Any comment welcome !

Cheers folks.
