Photographer's Note

I introduce you my new series: Szabolcs Count(r)y.

The name of the series come from the nickname of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County: those who live here call it Szabolcs, or humbly the Country, like it was a state in the state. And yet, sometimes it feels like that it is a different country, which stuck in time one or two centuries ago. - More on this later.

The history of the series: On a nice April day I went for an excursion with my parents in the county, where I was born and where I lived my first 18 years. My parents worked as architects and civil engineers and had assignments all across the county. As a child they often took me to these works to help them out by holding the end of the ban-chain .After work we visited beaches at the River Tisza, had an ice-cream somewhere or visited important monuments from the past, like this church. Recently, I decided that I would like to visit these places again and document them. At first I chose an analog camera with an 50 mm lens as it was mainly about having some time with my parents and not photographing, but I'm planning to return with my digital camera and my wide-angle lenses, including my good ol' Peleng.

The Church on the picture is the so called Bare Foot Notre Dame of Tákos. Here you can find further information on the Church:

In the WS you can see the interior from other angles and the keeper of the church, who serves as a tourist guide as well. She lives not far from church and very helpful, but sometimes you have to wait a few seconds until she puts cookies in the oven, because her grandparents would come that afternoon. :)

Olympus, OM-1, Olympus Zuiko 50/1,8 wide-open, 1/15, Sooters 200, hand-held by using the benches to support my arms.
Alongside with my new series I would like to introduce my new website. Its not complete yet, but has enough content already to present it.
