Photographer's Note

This is Meteora in 1984. It was captured with my old & tough Minolta XGM SLR camera. I hope the landscape doesn't look old because it's the same landscape today, 100 years ago or 1000 year ago. Meteora is a complex of six (used to be more) monasteries established as early as the 11th century by hermit monks on cliff tops & caves. It is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

This image shows the monastery of Agious Stephanos or Saint Stephen and is inhabited by nuns - the only one for nuns among the six. Hope somebody will correct me if I'm wrong here. Sorry about the sky - it was just that time of day and no clouds. Applied a bit of warming filter.

Thanks to Athanasios for motivating me to dig out my old negative to scan.
