Photographer's Note
A wide angled view of part of the picturesque town of Oia, built atop the jagged remnants of the outer caldera of Santorini Volcano, which exploded violently around 3,600 years ago, giving rise to one theory on the legendary destruction of Atlantis. The new smaller volcano within the caldera is much quieter and better behaved. In the fg are 3 bright blue domes of the Greek Orthodox church.

Hi Chris,
The distance between the houses and the horison is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the houses. The good lumimnosity is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hi Chris
You must have felt like a kid in a lolly shop here. There are just so many photo opportunities. The colours, the contrasts and of course the characteristic architecture are all so visually stunning, I could look at this image for ages and still find something new.
Cheers and happy Sunday

Hello Chris,
This reminds me so much of some of the photographs that Brian (timecapturer) has posted.
You have used a good crop, with a view of the misty sea in the b/g, which helps to emphasise the upward movement from the f/g to the b/g buildings.
Your dof works perfectly so that the buildings can be scrutinised for iconic, interesting, Greek details.
Have a lovely Sunday,
Bev :-)

I really like Greek architectures, somehow they look so clean maybe because of the colors they used. Awesome capture of those domes with sharp details. Well done, tfs.

Hello Chris - It's always interesting to see a variety of interpretations of a popular photographic subject. Of course we are all familiar with this stunning location from Brian's extensive gallery. Here you show a very good overview of the town with a composition that is packed with well managed and attractive detail. I love the peppering of blue domes which keep my eyes moving from the FG to the BG of this lovely shot. Warm regards Rosemary

Hello Chris,
I can't get enough of these wonderful views of Oia and Fira. These places look like a totally different world.
This is a splendid presentation of the labyrinthine village with its beautiful architecture. Great alternation of blue and white with now and then some pink.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Chris
this shot takes me back to my week on Santorini and day I spent here. It is an amazing place and you have captured its beauty and atmosphere succinctly in this magnificent shot. What intrigues me here is the different play of light in July compared to my images that were in early October. Stunning!
Have a great week - Brian.
