Erechteion został zbudowany w latach 421-406 p.n.e. Jest on usytuowany w najświętszym miejscu Akropolu. To tutaj miał się właśnie rozstrzygnąć mityczny spór Ateny i Posejdona o panowanie nad Attyką - tu wyrosło drzewo oliwne, dar Ateny i to tu od uderzenia trójzębu Posejdona ze skały trysnęło źródło słonej wody. Również obecnie w miejscu gdzie Atena zasadziła święte drzewo rośnie oliwka. Budowla została poważnie zniszczona w roku 1827 - wskutek ostrzału Turków. Najsłynniejszym portykiem otaczającym cellę, jest portyk południowy - krużganek Kor, w którym kolumny zastąpiono postaciami dziewcząt. Portyk ten jest motywem wielu pocztówek ateńskich, trudno więc było nam go nie rozpoznać.

I really like this shot. The building really stands out against its darker surroundings - I really like how you have captured the darker sky.

This is a nice shot of this ruined temple! The lighting here is outstanding with the dark sky providing contrast for the scene. The angle of the shot is nice showing us two sides of the building. The photo has fine color and the sharpness is very good.

Hello Arkadiusz,

This is one of the most dramatic shots I've ever seen of the Erechtheion, a jewel in the crown of the Athenian Acropolis. The highly distressed sky adds immense drama to the building bathed in brilliant sunlight. Bravo!
