Poros Harbor, a photo from Kefalinia, Ionian Islands

Photographer's Note

Another Poros, this time on Kefalonia (Cephalonia) in the Ionian Sea on the west coast of Greece. I liked the yellow blue colour contrasts and the parallel diagonals at left. This part of western Greece was a Venetian Protectorate and was never subjugated by the Ottomans, so it is very different from the rest of Greece.

A typical view well composed with these nets in the FG, nice vivid yellow color, pleasant view with harbour, boats and mountains landscape in the BG.

Hello Chris, You are visiting many islands of the Ionian sea. I also like these jello nets. They look delicate, for small fish. Charming composition. Nice colours. The summer will stay there longer than in northern countries.

Lovely picture of the harbour of Poros. Looking at the clear colours and the blue of the mountains I think this picture is from the beginning of the day.
The two heaps with the yellow fishing-nets are also a very attractive detail of the composition.

Hello Chris,
Colourful bundles of nets like these are a feast for the eyes and will always attract photographers. These yellow ones make a perfect contrast to the blue water and sky. It looks like a nice and quiet port with no obvious impact of tourism, just a place for the locals.

Attractive mustard-yellow fishing-nets contrast wonderfully on the small port scenery, Chris.
Superb allocation of pic. space, fine light and clarity rendered.
calm with not much action on the local marina, pleasent to look at.
