Photographer's Note

Saar river in the extreme southwest of Germany is navigable from Sarreguemines/Saargemünd to its confluence with Moselle at Konz. They say that ships up to 135 m can pass.
Saarschleife or Saar Loop is a wonderful place to the eye, but an obstacle to navigation as there is a 180 degree bend of the river with a radius of only 300 m, a hard site for a long barge's navigator.
For a total view of the loop see https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/photo1588500.htm
In this case, we just see two small ferries with a nice wave pattern behind them.
