Photographer's Note

Bautzen is a picturesque city in Saxony, in eastern Germany. It lies on the River Spree, on hilltops.
The city was founded the 5th century by the tribe of the Sorbs and still live here side by side Sorbs and Germans, there are two official languages ​​and all the names of shops, streets and offices are written in two languages: German and Sorbian.

In the picture you can see the St. Michaelis church built in 1473.
A legend says that St. Michaelis church was built on the site where the walls were the weakest and during the Hussite wars Bautzen residents defended the city against invaders. The Archangel Michael appeared on the sky and helped defenders of the city with his sword. In this place, there was built a church dedicated to the Archangel Michael.
