Photographer's Note

The square was created by Johann Arnold Nering at the end of the seventeenth century as the Linden-Markt and reconstructed by Georg Christian Unger in 1773. The Gendarmenmarkt is named after the cuirassier regiment Gens d'Armes, which was deployed at this square until 1773. During World War II, most of the buildings were badly damaged or destroyed. Today all the buildings are restored to their former state. More on Wikipedia

I really like the super blue colour tint in the sky, but was wondering if the lower part of the image might look even better, with a slight addition of yellow & green? Impressive neoclassical Greco Roman architecture, with perfect sharpness. Have a great Sunday!

Hello Malgorzata,
we are neighbours today, and you remind me with your photo, that I should pay a visit to Berlin. I always want to, it is not too far from my home, and last not least a german should know the capital, but as time goes by - there are always more important things to see and to do.
In your picture it is not very crowded, maybe too cold for tourists?

Hi Malgorzata,

Excellent architecture photo from one of my favorite spot in Berlin, as the church you are showing is standing across an identical copy facing it like a mirror, one being French, the other, the one you are showing, the Deutsch.

The soft light and the cloudy sky bring a nice mood to your image.

Hi Malgorzata,
The use of a CP enhanced the outlines and contrast on the architecture's elements in the fine scenery, also darkened the sky a bit. (sent a version of mine).
POV show an impressive big square, each of the edifices worth a close photo, assuming as you already did.

Beautiful photo of the square. You must have been here really early, no people on the square, it gives a feeling of peace and quietness. Nice to have it all to yourself. Beautiful details, great light, I love the cloud formation. Good colors, not over saturate or too much contrast and good composition.
