Photographer's Note

Situation near the Ahr bridges at Sinzig - the river flows from west to east, which here means from left to right.
Railway and street dams formed obstacles for the masses of water. While houses on the western side of the dams were overflooded by more than 2 m, those on the eastern side only suffered 0.5 m and flooded basements.
The western pillar of B 9 highway bridge collapsed; the eastern half of this bridge and the railway bridge are still intact. A RRX commuter of line RE 5 from Koblenz is heading north
