Photographer's Note

The severe floodings led to many casualties. As of today, more than 230 persons lost their lives, among which are 191 in Germany and 41 in Belgium.

The total number of destroyed cars in Ahrweiler district is estimated between 30.000 and 40.000. They are collected on unoccupied parcels of ground, taken up into lists for their owners and insurances and stored or even piled up temporarily. In this very case, I even would not be able to name the brand of the ruined car.

This site is literally beneath A 571 autobahn bridge near Bengen, not far from Bad Neuenahr. A better place for a photographer. Inside the cities, you hide your camera and your feeling is that of a person who robs dead people.

Donations are very necessary and very welcome.
