Saturday Afternoon in Soest

My previous post was titled Sunday Morning in Soest, and even though the title of this photo is Saturday Afternoon in Soest, it was taken in an entirely different city (and on a entirely different day of course).

Apart from Soest in the Dutch province of Utrecht, there's another Soest in the German state of Nordrhein-Westfalen (the names are pronounced differently though), about 50 km east of Dortmund and I happened to visit this town about a year ago. The German Soest used to be one of the most important cities in medieval Germany. Nowadays it has about 45,000 inhabitants. The two Soests have been twinned since 2004.
