Church Symmetry

Just one more very recent photo, before I start showing photos of my recent trip chronologically again. This photo was taken yesterday in the town of Halle (Saale), the largest city (239,000 inhabitants) in the German state of Sachsen-Anhalt (Saale, which is the name of the river that flows through the city, is usually added to the name to distinguish the city from one with the same name in western Germany). The photo shows the westside of the Marktkirche Unser Lieben Frauen (Market Church of our Dear Lady), located in the heart of the city. It was built between 1529 and 1554. Several historic figures are connected to the church: church reformer Martin Luther preached here, composed Georg Friedrich Händel was baptised here and Johann Sebastian Bach inspected the organ, whereas his son was organist in the church.
