Photographer's Note

Thank God It's Friday!
Okay, these boat are not really running fast to a well deserved week-end's rest, they are just part of the great sailing parade during the Brest-Douarnenez maritime festival last july. I tried to illustrate here the great diversity of boats that I talked about here.

On the foreground is "Vieux Copain", build as a tuna fishing boat on the French Atlantic Coast in 1940, then a small day boat (probably recently build), then "Esterel", a 8m JI yacht (beautiful classic boat) that is close to a thousand years old, then "Regina Maris", a three masted schooner build in Germany in 1970, after the great merchand boats of the Northern Sea. The small motor boat invited himself to the feast. The bee in the sky is obviously not a boat (but probably had a great time, as well).

Weather was not great, but I did my best with the colors. Would it have been better in B&W?
Have a great week-end.
