Bagatelle, a photo from Ile-de-France, North

Photographer's Note

A break from my nepalese serie today with an experiment (I am not a plant photographer). I took this shot in "Les Jardins de Bagatelle" (The Gardens of Bagatelle) located within the Bois de Boulogne on the west edge of Paris. With the very early arrival of spring this year, flowers are in bloom all over the many lawns as well as in the air, on the numerous trees like the magniolas above.

J4aime bien cette compo, qui nous présente l'arrivée du printemps (un peu en avance).
La PDC est bien choisie, mais je trouve que le bokeh n'est pas top, je pense que cela vient d'un travail de désaturation / assombrissement partiel de l'arrière-plan (me trompe-je ? Je préfère mettre le 70-200 L hors de cause pour ce rendu).
En tout cas une bonne idée,

Excellent work, your long lens is working very well to get this sharpness and the shallow DOF. The BG looks almost painted.

Bonjour Vincent -

Well done and a good lens selection to compress and blur the background as well getting in close. the image is very sharp as I can see the fur on the blossoms. The more I look at this image the more it looks like it might have been painted 100+ years ago in a garret overlooking Paris.

Ces bourgeons de magnolias à peine entrouverts sont superbes. Le flou du fond dans les mêmes tons est parfaitement en harmonie. C'est du grand art.

Salut Vincent, c'est très chouette ça, tout simple mais très incitatif a la rêverie. Peu de couleurs, peut etre lié à un ciel un peu chargé, mais justement je trouve que ça colle bien à la photo, le bokeh est puissant, sacré bon objectif que tu as la

quelle belle image riche en charme (et toujours au top pour ce qui concerne la technique!)
J'adore le Bois de Boulogne: je l'ai visité pour la premiére fois il y a 30 ans et lors de mon dernier voyage á Paris je l'ai rétrouvé comme à l'époque: un endroit paisible et beau.

Belle approche de l'arbre en floraison et je trouve que l'essai est plutot réussi! Joli bokeh coloré à l'arriére plan faisant penser à une peinture.

A very simple pic but with a tremendous effect for me. I'm not an expert in close-up nature pictures either, but I like what I see. I'm an absolut magnolia blossom freak and for such I'm happy to see this. The blurred effect in the bg gives a nice colored palette to enhance the flower in the fg.

A défaut de grives...
Bon, c'est le printemps ici et du coup cette compo devient totalement de circonstance...
Très belles teintes violet dans l'arrière-plan, pour former un bon rappel de couleur.
