"The Larzac plateau is the largest in the Causses. With 1000 km2, its vast plains, arid and depopulated, are dominated by ruiniform rocks.
The altitude varies between 500 and 900 meters, the Larzac stretches from north to south. IT is traversed throughout its length by the road No Escalette which opens the Languedoc vineyards Terrasses du Larzac. In recent years the A75 did it go in modernity by linking Clermont in Beziers. So when you come from Paris, the door of Larzac is crossing the Millau Viaduct.
But for once on this asphalt ribbon of 35 km between the cavalry and Caylar, we do not feel prisoner. One can always escape and to halt eg at the Templar city of Couvertoirade incredibly well preserved.
