Photographer's Note
View on the Chaîne des Puys near Clermont-Ferrand in Auvergne in central France. The Chaîne des Puys is a former volcanic range. It is 45 kilometres long and 3 to 5 kilometres wide from the north to south. The range has about 80 volcanos, all of them are extinct. The oldest eruptions are dated 95,000 years. But the most recent are only 8,000 years old, which makes the scientists think the volcanos could wake up ! The highest point of the range is the famous Puy de Dôme, 1,465 metres height. I took this picture from its summit.

Cette vue depuis le Puy de Dôme m'a toujours fasciné et j'y ai emmené nombre d'élèves. Tu en as réalisé une excellente photo.

Hi Olivier,
This is an amazing photo. I like the "layers" - first light green slope, next deep green forests, next the volcanic range from left to right and a plain in the background. Composition and colours are excellent.

Bonsoir Olivier
Très agréable contraste entre le vert dense des premiers plans et l'arrière sous ce voile atmosphérique bleuté.
