View from Index (2396m)

The Grand Balcon Sud takes you from the Col des Montets, beyond Argentiere, down to Les Houches, passing through the Aiguilles Rouges Nature Reserve for much of the way. .

The route gives you the best views of Mont Blanc and the Aiguilles de Chamonix, There is generous flora and blueberries in season.

I admire the composition here, Piotr -- the complementary V-shapes of the green hillsides and the gray mountains, and the well-placed sheep, bright against the dark background.

I often make the mistake to think that a stunning landscape will carry a foto. You have shown me one way to avoid that mistake! Many thanks!

che tu ami la montagna è indiscutibile e lo dimostra ampiamente la bella serie di fotografie che quotidianamente proponi.
Questa - a mio parere - è una delle più belle per la particolare composizione nella quale l'ovino ha un ruolo rilevante sia per la sua stessa presenza, come anche per la particolare luce che illumina l'animale.
Eccellente la luce che illumina la mantagna colta in uno dei momenti più belli della stagione con chiazze di neve tra la roccia che ne aumenta notevolmente il fascino.
Complimenti per questa e per tutta la bella serie dfi foto del Monte Bianco.
Bravissimo.

Hello Piotr,
This is a magnificent view. It looks like a perfect area for trekking. The green hillside in the foreground makes a perfect contrast to the dark, snow-covered rocks further back. The sheep provides the life that makes most beautiful views even finer. This is also technically a very good poto with well handled light and fine colours.

No to niezła alpinistka z tej owcy :-) znalazła sie tam w pore we własciwym miejscu.
Mam podobne zdjęcie z Rusinowej Polany w Tatrach, tyle, że góry troche nizsze.
Fajne zdjęcie - gory zawsze mnie urzekaja.

Marvelous scenery of the mighty MB, from a high point above the Chamonix valley.
Excelent contrast on nature between the green pasture in FG nad the aiguille's on far side. The lone sheep must enjoy the beautiful scenery as well, living there year round...

H Piotr,
A very well composed picture with strong parallel diagonals in both foreground and background. Without the sheep, this would have been another mountain picture but with this inclusion the interest is raised considerably.

Really regret skipping the Rhone Alps when I was recently in southern France. The solitary sheep animates the scene and makes a fine focal point. Good sharpness and a magnificent backdrop of snow capped peaks. The diagonal slope of the fg hill provides dynamism and perspective. Tfs!
