Photographer's Note

Reflections of Nort-sur-Erdre old gristimill in river Erdre. This gristmill was built in 1898 and was closed in 1932. Some of the buildings were restored and one of them hosts Nort-sur-Erdre tourist information centre. A gristmill is a building in which grain is ground into flour. They took place of mills after electricty appeared at the end of 19th century. Nort-sur-Erdre is a small town in river Erdre valley, about 30 kilometers north of Nantes. River erdre is navigable from here (to Nantes) and the Nantes to Brest canal starts very close to the town, so Nort-sur-Erdre is one of the most important place in Loire-Atlantique for river tourism.
