Photographer's Note

"La Granvillaise" is a replica of a "bisquine", the traditionnal fishing sailboats from the Baie du Mont Saint Michel (between Normandy and Brittany, in France). This 60-feet wooden boat is now used for sailing trips on the Channel coasts.
This picture was taken during the trip back from the maritime festival of Douarnenez (Brittany) to Granville. There was a fair wind pushing us in the right direction, and a quiet sea, the best weather for the boat to have her fun, fast and quiet. The sun was coming down and the first watch was quietly taking its turn, while the others were going to sleep for a while.
We sailed, all though the night, and the day after. It was just magical.
