Photographer's Note

A b&w to try to give a « soul » to the castle,i think i got to practise to make better b&w conversions…but i recently discover the pleasure of that PP exercice…

Built in the mid-sixteenth century, the château is situated in the heart of the prestigious Monbazillac vineyards.

Four large, round towers enclose the main building, and defensive machicolations and battlements contrast with the more elegant Renaissance elements of the château.
The château apartments house a museum of vine and wine, of Périgourdin furniture, of the history of Protestantism and an exhibition of Périgord’s thousand and one castles. The old winery has been transformed into a restaurant and the famous Monbazillac wine can be tasted at the Visitor’s Centr
