Photographer's Note
The "Musée de l'Eau" (Water Museum) has been recently built in the little city of Pont-en Royans (917 residents) at the southern entry of the Vercors mountain range. The Vercors region is appreciated all seasons by hikers and mountain-bikers, cross-country skiers, alpinists, paragliders, and also cavers, due to the numerous natural caves existing. It was also a very active Resistant movement region during WW2.
The little city, built at the exit point of the impressive river Bourne gorge, was naturally the right place for such a museum, entirely dedicated to all facets of water and climate, explained along an interesting "aquatic" trip. Amongst the themes, there is a tunnel where you walk into different damp climates, from tropical heat to a cold winter fog... very well recreated. At the end of the visit, over 200 mineral waters from all around the world are offered for tasting.
About the shot itself: near the entry of the museum, there is a paved surface with little holes spraying water under pressure. Kids were playing on that place, running between the holes. The sun was forming a rainbow on the droplets mist. I took place in the corner where a rainbow was the most visible, and asked a daring volunteer to run diagonally in my direction for a picture. It was fun, and he did it very nicely. As I didn't want to bother him, I just took two shots, one coming, and one leaving. This is the best one.
Due to mist creating a pale image, I just used brightness and contrast adjustments to come to a more visible image. No color adjustments, but a light filtering (NeatImage) to smoothen the contours.

It may not be the sharpest pic but in every other respect it makes its mark. Beautifully caught! And nice Note too!

Thanks to the mist create by the water, the eye is attracted by the young boy jumping above the rainbow.
Well done, it's a nice picture.

A beautiful fun shot. The joy of this moment is well captured. I like the spray and the rainbow, and his happy smile. I'D crop the plant out, but I like this shot, JM.

A great capture, Jean Michel. The boy looks so overjoyed to finally see what is at the end of the rainbow. A good note too.

Bien vu !

Now this is what I call real photography.
Well done on this very good action candit shot.
If you could clone out the flower, it would be perfect. Perhaps it spoils this lovely misty feeling the image has. Love it, Jean.

Hi Jean Michel,
This summer I visited the "Musée de l'Eau" and our two youngest sons played at the same spot. They had a lot of fun and became incredibly wet ;-) . Unfortunately, no rainbow on our pictures. Nice shot.
