Photographer's Note
This was my second post to Trekearth and it showed all the inexperience that such timing brings. It was too small, the colors needed correcting, and I didn't know how to frame a photo to present it nicely. It got to be an annoyance that it wasn't done right. So today, I edited the photo properly and reposted it. I hope you like it better.
Here's the original explanation of where the photo was taken:
"Part of the entertainment for passengers on a Rhone Cruise was a train ride from Boucieu-le-Roi to Tournon. And here is a first view of that little train coming into the Boucieu Station, impressively billowing smoke, very nice for photographers, not so nice for the passengers."
Someone just told me that the little red hat in the frame may not be acceptible here and might get this photo deleted. I hope not, I didn't intend any offense as it is my signature on Treklens and it just didn't occur for me not to use it here.

Buena toma, buenos colores, las lineas que hacen las vias juegan muy bien en mi vision general asi como tambien el humo del tren, buenos colores.

A very big improvement! The image is really powerful and the size really helps to appreciate the details. Beautiful point of view and good DOF. Congrats. Gabriel

Nice shot Lois;
I like train shots such as this as they add depth to the image when passing through the smoke. A nice angle as you managed to capture the rest of the train as well.
Just a friendly warning to be carefull of the frames, pictures to get removed for frames that are too decorative (ie: the red hat bottom right hand corner). I had to learn the hard way on Christmas Day! Hahaha
Cheers Lois,
- Dan

Hi Lois,
Lovely photo, and the repost shows it so much better. Well chosen POV showing the switch and water pipes. And strong effect showing the train coming straight ahead with full steam.

Hello, Alain!
Very nice and sentimental scene! I'm very interested in old trains, so I like this one very much! Well cropped image, delicate colors, nice soft focus. I wonder, which way it choosed...

Greg

Hi Lois
This is great composition and the framing works very well indeed. The exposure is good and the dynamic aspect of the steam adds greatly to the scene. Well done.

This is super Lois. I can see the train moving closer to me and the smoke is moving too. Very good POV with the double tracks in the foreground. Colours and details are great too. Well done,

Switching device does'nt work well; train will never turn at left with such a curved rail at right.
Great improvement from the orignal picture, colors much better;
Right track not at level required a slow speed train.

WOW! What a beauty. Trains are a favourite of mine. Recently Kath (feather) has posted a few good ones from England. But this one is as good as it gets. Great capture of the steam. And what a change this is from the original. Well Done!

Great photo..
I like the composition using the idea of thirds by letting the front of the engine be off center. Good color and a great POV.
Thanks

je trouve cette photo exceptionnelle: couleur, lumière, cadrage, et en plus j'adore les vieux trains!
un seul reproche: la fausse modestie de cette note qui !nous explique que ce n'et pas une bonne photo!
I find this photo is absolutely perfect: color, light,composition, and over all I love the old trains!
one criticism: the false modesty of your note explaining that it's not a good picture!
