Photographer's Note

''Clinging to the foot of cliffs, in the hollow of a fault, where a torrent and olive trees grown, with the view over lavender fields, thyme and oak trees, this village on the edge of the gorge Verdon and near the artificial lake of St. Croix is one of the wonders of the department. It is a village which was founded in 434 by monks from the abbey of Lerins and who built a monastery there. On a rocky terrace overlooking the village, with the cliff as a backdrop, the Romanesque chapel Notre Dame de Beauvoir, dating from the twelfth century, is itself crowned by a gold star hanging from a long chain of 227 meters. The local museum is devoted to the traditional art of pottery that happily perpetuate in many workshops in the village''
