Cassis Castle at night, a photo from Provence-Alpes-Cote-dAzur, South

Photographer's Note

Cassis lies on the Mediterranean coast of France, close to some beaches (full of boulders and gravel, like most Mediterranean beaches) and a national park. And it has its own castle, much modified and rebuilt. But the castle still looks good, perched on a cliff overlooking the town's little harbour, especially at night when it is lit up by bright lights. This nocturnal view is from the harbour, which provides nice reflections.

Hello Vincent,

A difficult shot in the dark, night sky but one which has been very successful!

My immediate impression was that of a scene from a fairytale! The spangled effect of the reflected, colourful, artificial lights sets the scene for the illuminated castle, high on the hill and dominating all around.

A fantastic view of the impressive castle, which was illuminated beautifully and seems to be floating over the smaller houses of the town. Also the reflections in the calm water are appealing.
