A castle, a village, Lunas
In Lunas, overlooking the village from the Redondel rock, a castle is quoted as 806 in a charter of the abbey of Gélone, succeeding a Gallo-Roman oppidum. The medieval castle built in the same place in the 12th century, in 1118, demolished in 1627, was replaced by the present castle present castle 17th century, built in 1641 on bank of the Gravezon.

Hello Joël,
It looks very old this village nicely depicted in the sunlight. I like the point of view and the contrasting architectural styles. Also, the play of light across the façades, which brings out the colours and textures to such good effect.

Bonjour Joel ,

Hello Joel,
I just love the contrasts of light and shade in your photograph, they create a still, evening mood. The buildings are sharply revealed, with interesting textures and colours that add a little vibrancy. The features are well positioned, with the inclusion of the disappearing waterway for our imaginations to wonder about.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Bonsoir Joel,
a great presentation of this antique, picturesque and introvert village. Your composition includes a lot of architectural details and eloquent textures. Depth and clarity are excellent and the colours absolutely natural and eloquent too. Lighting is superb, I particularly enjoy the smooth transfer from light to shadow and the many lighting variations all over the place. The workshop pictures are very useful complements to this view. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania

Hi Joël,
A very pleasant view and a well taken picture. There are only a few colours here, in the window shutters and a matching bush. A very attractive sunshine over the the scene and what looks like an open air restaurant.
Kind regards

Bonsoir Joel,
The place taken from a super POV, show greatly the buildings on the old town. But, I'd ask the same question already asked Christiane, wondering why many French villages on rural country appearing on TE pictures when nobody is out on the streets and feel an "empty" ambiance. Here I can see a cafe' wher nobody sits at time take, a vacation maybe...?
The picture is outstanding, do not get me wrong, just had this in mind for long.
Au revoir,
Ike

so much old charm and history in these buildings.
the rustic nature, and how they look like they are about to fall apart is the real appeal for me :)
