Seen from a place not far from the source of Jonte, on the commune of Gatuzières, at the foot of the Mount-Aigoual.

Gatuzières is a french commune, located in the department of Lozere and the Languedoc-Roussillon area. Of a surface of 30 km², it is populated of 55 gatuziérois, that is to say 2 hab/km².

Jonte takes its source in the mountain of the Mount-Aigoual. It separates the department from Lozere of that of Aveyron. It separates also the Méjean Causse from Black Causse. It is thrown in the Tarn in Rozier. The river disappears to adopt an underground course 3km downstream from Meyrueis, and reappears 7 km further with resurgence of the Twelve.

The Méjean Causse is one of Large Causses of the South of France, vast calcareous plate of 34 000 ha, whose altitude oscillates between 800 m and 1247 m with the Mount Cargo liner. It is surrounded by the deep valleys of Jonte, Tarnon, and the Tarn.
