Photographer's Note

It is said that when Troy qu'Enée left burning, and after his episode in love with Queen Dido of Carthage, was to found a new city, Massalia.
En route, these survivors of Troy stopped on our shores, some of them settle there and founded Alali.
The Romans conquered this trading port in 259 BC and the city Aléria new name. This ancient city was an important trading town and had diplomatic relations with the Etruscans, the people who lived near the region of Rome. It was the largest city in Corsica until the 5th sc, the date of its destruction by vandals.
The ancient port has disappeared, and the sea retreated more than 3km from Oppidum. It is being investigated by archaeologists.

Today, it is a small village clustered around a fort that houses the 16th sc an archaeological museum with beautiful pieces. Spouses Jehasse, archaeologists began the day the heart of the ancient city you can visit. The search area is very important, it will take several years to discover this multi-cultural city.

The photo was taken at the foot of the Oppidum with his right, the fort "Matra", the ancient site is located just across.
