Photographer's Note
French and Dutch have lived side by side on St. Maarten/St. Martin for hundreds of years. The French side of the island has a less frenetic pace, more fashionable shopping. The Dutch side has casino hotels, and more nightlife.
Marigot, capital of the French side, is one of the Caribbean's more charming towns. The marina area is filled with boutiques and shops. But all the stores were closed on the Christmas Day when we were there.
So, we climbed up to the top of the Fort Louis. Fort Louis was completed by the French in 1789. Though not much remains of the structure itself (only few cannons), it was great fun to be on the top for sensational 180-degree vistas of Marigot and most of the French coast.
PS: Why TE is so difficult to be fixed? Successfully uploading a picture is by luck.
Last time I tried, tried, and tried…was out of luck, unable to upload a picture.

Bonjour Tiffany,
Un très beau point de vue sur la côte. Un très beau contraste entre le jaune et le bleu de la mer qui est de toute beauté.Les voiliers sont vraiment très beaux.
Amicalement

Hello Tiffany
Well, you really got paid by climbing to the top of the fortress. Wonderful view with the fortress in the foreground. The shallow water creates fine shades of blue wich contasts well against the foreground colours. Very nice indeed! Thanks.

Hello Tiffany,
magnificent wide view over the bay with all those boats and so many details on the far horizon.
You have pushed the colors on the edge of saturation but still on the good side,
thanks and regards,
Gerrit

Hello Tiffany,
A wonderful view of the coastline from at the Fort Louis!
The wall protecting the small marina follows nicely the curving line of the coast.
Seen from that viewpoint, St.Martin looks less like an island than at a collection of islands and peninsulas.
The white yachts are nicely spread out over the beautiful blue water.
On some islands of the Caribbean, it's good to live; others have a poor population. How is life for the people on St.Martin?
Best regards, Paul

Hi Tiffany
Thats quite a scene!
Makes me want to go out and buy a sailboat....well, maybe not :)
Amazing colors, thats obvious. Love the wrap around effect too, theres so much depth to the scene.
Such an attractive photo. Must have been a great experience being here.
As for TE, yeah...its been tough lately.
I have to wait several minutes for my photo to load...but you nust have to wait. Not sure why the site lags and why they cant correct it.
Cheers
Craig
