Photographer's Note

The Perret Tower (of the name of its architect Auguste Perret) is located in Amiens, opposite the Station of north, in the district rebuilt after the bombardments of 1944. Initially high 104 meters (110 meters today) with 30 stages, it was a long time the most "skyscraper" of Europe.

Built between 1948 and 1954, the tower constituted at the time an exploit as for the use of the concrete. The tower, visible with kilometers, is practically as high as the cathedral of Amiens (112 meters). These two monuments are regarded as the architectural symbols of the city.
