Photographer's Note

We observe the grouped works of Tuby (1635-1700), an Italian Ėborn French sculptor, one of the great figure of art of Versailles. This sculpture facing the palace and Latona represents chariot of Apollon recognized as the master, god of light, and symbol of the sun, leaving waves to chase sea monsters to enlighten the earth. On this day, as I arrived early in the morning at Versailles with one of old single focal lenses produced in 1964, As the optical design of the lens probably was not yet fully computerized as today, I imagine that working out all the aberrations in a balanced way was not an easy task. What we observe here is a result of default in optical design, however if all conditions were met. It could produce a certain effect.
