Photographer's Note
Just an evening shot from under the tower and into the western pillar. In my guidebook for Paris the Eiffel tower is said to have 18038 pieces and 2500000 rivets. Looking into this orgy in slender steel parts that seems to be an understatement.
I might add that never before have I compressed so much to get under the limit and I think it shows :(

One could get quite philosophical by a photo like this, reflecting on how pure rationality and logic can lead to apparently complete and utter chaos.
Well seen, eminently captured.

Yet another non-boring Eiffel Tower picture? ;) Looks more like a painting. The frame adds to the whole picture. The quality is OK, don't worry about compression. I would love though to see the full-size image... Excellent!

I like the controlled chaos in this picture and the warm light. It is a nice contrast towards the steel. Well done.

This is a visual jungle of angle iron and steel beams...each playing an essential role to support this amazing structure.
It was by coincidence Ebbe that when I first opened the photo ,the first question that came to my mind was "how many pieces" are there in the Eiffel Tower?....and then I found the answer in your notes :-)

Amazing view - amazing light - amazing construction.
A quite surprising shot of the tower and you've given us a couple of extraordinary ones already. I find the light and color very pleasing and the chaotic muddle of bit and pieces intriguing - no ordinary IKEA work here! And there's always a diagonal going in the right direction. You've done a great capture, Ebbe - well done!
I got a 3D-puzzle of the Eiffel Tower from my daughter many years ago, maybe you've inspired me to start building... ;o)

A very impressive one, very original too.
It shows well the talent of the builders (and the photograph).
The image is sharp and there's no evidence of over-compression.
Well done !

What a mess ! ;-)
To be honest, a bit disturbing at the first sight... but very pleasant after a while. The light, colors (and your talent of course ;-) make the pic.
Thank you once again for making my theme growing up day after day !!!

wow..eiffel tower in different perspective..it does look messy comapared to the conventional cool image of eiffel tower, but at the same time it is very unique shot which shows the details of the tower..for people like me who haven't been to paris, it does give a sense how the eiffel tower really look like..

Well, I think that your engineering backgrouind is behind this photo, Ebbe, and from the same reason, I like it too. Steel constructions are always exciting, but this is great with it's rich details. I like also the light. I think you are Gustav's favorite by now, very very good one, well done, Ebbe.

Cette vieille dame est un des monuments les plus photographiés au monde. Voilà une photo très originale qui fait penser, il est vrai, à une peinture abstraite. Félicitations pour le cadrage et les couleurs.
This old lady is one of the monuments most photographed in the world. Here is a very original photograph which looks like an abstract painting. Bravo for framing and colors.

Hi Ebbe. Here is a view of the tower I have not seen before. Not nearly as pretty, but far more fascinating. Thanks for the note on the construction. It's amazing what man can do. I have a hobby of drawing mazes so this shot has a certain fascination for me. Thanks for sharing it!
