Police, a photo from Ile-de-France, North

Photographer's Note

A more and more common sight in Paris these days. Since the last presidential election (april 2002) was fought over security issues, the new "police minister" (ministre de l'interieur) sent back a maximum of policeman in the streets for the french people to feel safe.

Tech : the picture was blurry (stolen picture, I shot while walking) I oversharped it to give it... well, a style.

Note : I ignore the meaning of the red stuff on those guys' shoulder. Maybe it is related to the fact that those policeman where not "city walker" but where assigned to the surveillance of the Senate (picture taken rue de Vaugirard).

candid shot with policemen, brave you! I try to do it sometimes too, difficult! the accidental composition is surprisingly good, I don't mind it is tilted, good stuff.

Your title captures it perfectly - police, wherever it is. The powerful standing and tough look can be of policemen anywhere...
I also like the tilt here - adds some interest to the photo.

A dynamic and brave capture! I think I'd rather take my chances with a polar bear than the French police ;-)

The diagonal and off-centre composition works well here, and is enhanced by the shadow on the right. Well captured :-D

Interesting shot.. A result of Mr Sarkozy's policy..I like the way you took it. Nice also that the guy is looking at you. Very nice shot indeed.

their expression ( specially the first one ) & your photo angle is interesting, although it was better in a sharp form!
