PARIS is a city we rediscovered last year. Come to think of it, it isn't very far from where we live, there is always great art on show and the food isn't bad either:)

I do know the city pretty well because I usually go there with students (before corona, remember?). Last year both my wife and my daughter had a "special number" birthday and both chose a trip to the French capital to celebrate it. No complaints from me!!

THIS PICTURE is the view to the west from somewhere inside the Musée d'Orsay. Typical Paris-style building, cloudy sky (sometimes also a bit typical) and that tower in the distance, you know...

Hello Benny,
I would in any case have thought of somewhere in France, but that tower in the distance drastically scales down the number of options. This photo seems to have been taken during the usually short period before a heavy shower (and possibly thunder) when the combination of good light and dark sky does something special to the colours.

Goedenavond Benny,

Eerst had ik het niet door dat het Parijs was, toy ik de Eiffel toren zag.
We krijgen eens iets anders te zien in Parijs of de overvolle straten of de vele terrassen
Architecture van vele van die oude huizen en zinken daken
Mooi panorama beeld van boven uit, bedankt

Hallo Benny,
Ik had even gedacht dat deze foto vanuit je hotel genomen werd (cfr. de foto van Toledo).
Ondanks de zwaarbewolkte lucht krijgen we hier toch een zeer helder zicht over de Parijse daken.
Goed dieptezicht.

I do like taking rooftop photos in Paris as there is always lots to see. A good one and I've taken ones from the roof of Musée d'Orsay so from a little higher up.

Great viewpoint of the skyline with tremendous detail throughout this composition. The distant tower provides an attractive eye stopper but what I like most is the threatening sky that looks so dynamic. Superb capture of the grumpy weather and an impressive contrast to what's below. Amazing power of nature timely taken.

hello benny, Yes, it is not far from your home, so why not to go now and then. Nice view of the roofs and Eiffel Tower indicates it is Paris. Interesting light.
Special number birthday - I also had it last year, probably the last "round" birthday.

small thing...you forgot the "E" on the word Before in your title. I love these city scenes, I take them all the time.
you have yourself a cool view. it amazes me, living in North America, how some Europeans do not travel (like you mentioned in your note). the countries are SOOOO close by, only a 2 hr flight or so. For me, its 15 hours with lay overs. anyways, lovely atmosphere and city views. cheers

Nice perspective over several layer of buildings.
The Eiffel tower adds the final touch. Very good contrast of the dark sky and brightly lit buildings.
