Photographer's Note

Slight variation on my previous post, I hope you don't find them too similar. This take has less "eye in the sky" above and more art (and art lovers) below.

THE BOURSE DE COMMERCE is an 18th century historical building in the heart of Paris. It was used for trading and moneymaking until the end of last century.

THE FONDATION PINAULT now houses here. Just like the Fondation Vuiton, this is a private art enterprise. The Pinault collection focusses on living and contemporary art. It has just opened and currently stages its first show. Needless to say it is a bit of an arty hot spot in Paris these days.

THIS PICTURE shows the grand dome of the Bourse with a part of the beautifully restored mural and the first floor interior facade underneath.

Below is a wax statue installation by Urs Fischer. An enormous classicist statue made of wax is slowly melting and collapsing, as small candles burn it from the inside.

Quite impressive, especially given the location!
