Photographer's Note

Hello friends and colleagues, today I offer this beautiful composition in the "little Venice" of the city of Colmar, this is the fourth image of the second visit I made to the beautiful city, I hope you like it, then some letters about the city.

Colmar (French: Colmar, Alsatian: Colmer, German: Colmar, between 1871-1918 and 1940-1945: Kolmar): is a city and commune in the Alsace department of the Upper Rhine, France. It is the prefecture (capital) of the district of the same name. The old city center, well preserved, houses several buildings, sometimes large, German Gothic style and the first Renaissance, as well as a number of old churches, among which is the collegiate church of San Martín (XIII century) as the biggest and most remarkable. The local artist of the fifteenth century Martin Schongauer painted what is considered his masterpiece, The Virgin of the Roses, in the Eglise des Dominicains (church of the Dominicans). The famous Isemheim Altarpiece by Matthias Grünewald is the most outstanding treasure housed in the Unterlinden Museum in the city. This museum, opened in 1853, is housed in the former convent of the Dominican order of "Unterlinden" (meaning "under the lime trees"). In 1834, Auguste Bartholdi, creator of the famous Statue of Liberty, was born in Colmar Frédéric, located in the city of New York. Once a year, in the month of August, Colmar hosts the Wine Fair. However, the greatest art preserved by Colmar is that traditional atmosphere, with its carefully preserved wooden structure houses, full of flowering geraniums on hot days. Colmar has an interesting center, set with old buildings, a famous museum, Unterlinden, and a neat little Venice. In addition, in the surroundings of the city there are some other points of interest, such as the magnificent village of Riquewihr, and an excellent gastronomy and careful wines that also haunt the conception of art. Unterlinden Museum is housed in a former convent of Dominica founded in the thirteenth century, which has a Gothic cloister considered the best in the region.
