Sibelius Monument

I wanted to post a photo of the Sibelius Monument in Helsinki, but couldn’t really decide which one I should choose, so here is a collection of four impressions.

The Sibelius Monument (Finnish: Sibelius-monumentti) is a monument dedicated to Finnish composer Jean Sibelius (1865-1957), Finland’s greatest composer. Located at the Sibelius Park (Finnish: Sibeliuksen puisto), it was designed by Eila Hiltunen, who won a competition organised by the Sibelius Society after the composer’s death. It was unveiled in 1967 and is titled Passio Musicae. Hiltunen tried to capture the essence of the music of Sibelius, whose face was also included in the monument.

Lepo pokazano sa vise fotografije, dobar kontrast, lepe boje, lepo uhvacen trenutak sa posetiocima.

Beautifully shown with more photos, good contrast, nice colors, nice moment with visitors.
Beautiful sculptures, a beautiful place and a monument.

in fact this monument is the second most famous view of the country. I liked the different views we have here, each one well framed and with a nice quality. the monument with the face of the musician remind me a monument in colombia.

Hello Lars,

I usually prefer to see one photograph, with the others as w/s but, in this instance, you have given a superb impression of the monument, which are combined tastefully, in a very artistic way! The three close-ups are like a modern, texturised piece, with the whole scene as an inset.
I like it very much!

Hello Lars,
The monument is quite spectacular and you present it well in four very different photos from various angles. The general overview with the many visitors, including musicians, gives us a good idea of the place, whereas the three close-ups show us clearly how original this monument is.

IHello Lars, This is a great idea to show a few photos at once. I have an impression that at Workshops few people look. And to post day after day is a bit boring. Excellent collage. It looks better than I remember this monument. I found it very ugly. The organ pipes are nice but this silver Sibelius head no. You were lucky with the fine weather. I was there in the gloomy winter. I like "Finlandia".

Hallo Lars,
Wanneer ik niet kan kiezen, plaats in enkele foto's in de WS maar die worden niet zo vaak bekeken.
Een goed idee dus om dergelijke collage te maken.
Trouwens een heel erg geslaagde collage die het monument vanuit verschillende hoeken toont en soms ook tot in detail gaat.
Heel mooi gedaan!

I don't quite know how this monument relates to music, unless he played the pipe organ hahaha
I just don't see how its related, but that's just me.
still glad you posted it though, as its a new and interesting subject from Finland - a country which we don't see many posts from. you've got my attention here. cheers

An extraordinary monument for the known composer which you managed a collage showing diff. POV's upon, Lars.
I guess those pipes makes sounds when the wind blowing through... isn't it?
All 4 photos are attractive, the upper right gave a nice surrounding sight.

This is a lovely set of photos showing the monument from different angles. We also get a close-up of Sibelius' head. :-) There's a lot of detail, and it's a unique design. Very nice presentation.

Dag Lars According to my on-line investigation, Sibelius composed its complete organ works between 1925 to 1941; and you recently impersonated the Finnish composer by means of this impressive collage of studied captures of his memorial for a much-pleasing whole! Heel mooi fotowerk! Tot ziens.

Hello Lars, how could I have missed this one?
An excellent collection of four great shots.
The 'long' shot that includes the people puts the other three pictures into context, everyone a winner. I particularly like the shot that looks up through the pipes.

Een prachtige compilatie van foto’s rond en van het Sibelius monument.
Alleen een link naar zijn muziek ontbreekt nog.
Finlandia zou natuurlijk te verwachten zijn of anders het vioolconcert. Maar een link naar een uitvoering van Friolins Darskap, wat dit trombone-trio toen op de lessenaar had staan zou natuurlijk nog leuker zijn.

Lars, successful collage presenting the Sibellius monument and close ups. The steel tubes are very original. A silver sculpture represents the composer head. Fine colors, good image quality, instructive photo note, regards.
