The Big Red Ship, a photo from Southern Finland, South

Photographer's Note

A perhaps less typical view of Helskini. Of course the main sites (like the cathedral and the seafront) are included here but I wanted to try out something a little different as well. The big ship on the left is one of the ferries that connects Helsinki and Finland to its neighbors. I don't know what the original purpose of the red ship was but I believe there's a restaurant in it now.

Nice tonality making this scene very dramatic but peaceful in the same time. The red boat with it's name is a great element here. Helsinki must be interesting place.

I really enjoy this unusual POV! Ti nit pick it I would have loved you to be a bit lower and a bit more to the right to get the church whole and a bit lower angle on the ship that's taking over the image ;D Too bad the red boat is cut on the right...
All this put aside it's a wonderfully refreshing POV on this church that has been shot a gazillion times!
Leaving just the boat in red was a magnificent idea! I really enjoy it... Thanks for sharing this unusual and highly creative POV!

Great shot Philipp, excellent POV which captures the size of the ferryboat well, while still giving us a good view of the city beyond.

Nice and creative photo!
Your picture contains the the most famous sight of Helsinki and the harbour, and some good technical elements like the B&W/colourful effect. The only problem with using this effect is that the focus is on the foreground ferry and not on the colourful ship.
Anyway, I like your photo a lot!
