Photographer's Note

Above the Senaatintori (The Senate square) in the center of Helsinki, you have to notice that cathedral called "Tuomiokirkko" you can reach by walking up the large stairs. I believe it's a lutherian cathedral since inside the decoration is quite simple. I like very much the kind of green domes on the roofs and it's a kind of testimony of the russian influence over Finland.

Very close, you can have a nice walk in the Katajanokka area along the harbour with the never-ending noria of ferries leading to the islands around or even to Estonia.

Helsinki is not that large for a capitale city and it's quite easy to drive around and discover the different places.

Very interestingly, I discovered that nordic countries are a paradise for night photography. Indeed, during summer, the "blue hour", that great moment when the sky has deep blue tones and which usually leads to great pictures does not last 10-15 minutes like in France but more than one hour. It looks like in July the night does not last more than 5 hours !!! Incredible !!!

Taken at sunset. USM applied.
