Here three municipalities border each other

MALDEGEM – ADEGEM – SINT-LAUREINS

Description of the old bridge
In the north of the municipality, from the Broekelken to the Schipdonk Canal and the border with Sint-Laureins. Celie is an old neighborhood on the Lieve in Adegem and Sint-Laureins, already mentioned in the 14th century. In the bed of the Lieve, the Schipdonk Canal or the Afleidingskanaal of the Leie was dug. As a diversion, the canal was mainly intended to limit flooding.
From Maldegem, the canal was further dug parallel to the Leopold Canal to Heist. When the canal was built, the old buildings around the Celie Bridge over the Lieve also disappeared. The current Celie Bridge over the Schipdonk Canal is an iron drawbridge, rebuilt after the destruction of the Second World War, according to a design by the Ministry of Public Works in 1947.

Interesantan i lep pogled, lep trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lepa priroda i arhitektura, dobro pkazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
lep refleks na vodi i sivo oblaci koji najvaljuju kisu.
Dobar rad, lepsa fotografija.
Dobar tekst o koriscenoj tehnici i elementima snimka.

Very moody with the stormy sky. The reflections of the bridge and tree is really nice and the diagonal line of the canal is a good compositional tool.

Hello John,
I like the mild colours created by the weak light under the dark sky. The bridge is a fine feature, but so are the trees along the canal and the one between the buildings which is so beautifully reflected in the water.

Hallo John,
De zwaarbewolkte lucht belette niet dat je mooie weerspiegelingen in het kanaal kon vinden.
Goed perspectief met de lange kanaalbermen en het water.
Mooie compositie met de horizontale lijnen van de brug en de diagonalen van het kanaal.

Typical bridge we see in the Benelux countries, John.
The canal view offered a wide landscape within the frame, a reflection on water and a farm complex near by.

A charming composition, to which this gray sky that transmits the unpleasantness of winter, does not detract from the charm of the original bridge over the canal and the few houses next to it.

Mooi zicht op de pittoreske brug, John. Ook de dreigende wolken dragen bij tot de foto. Het nogal moderne huis vind ik wat minder geslaagd, maar je kan dat niet verzetten natuurlijk.
